Take a stroll in a mediterranean garden
A mediterranean garden in Mougins
A harmonious whole from both near and far
An arid garden with over thirty plant varieties
The cooler lower part of the garden to the north offered ideal conditions for a pétanque pitch. We added a rough concrete terrace for aperitifs and half-time drinks. Access is via a path lined with stabilised sand that undulates between the dry garden plants. The rounded shapes contrast with the angles of the house and terrace. Around thirty different varieties grow here, with a dominant pastel hue of purple and orange. Corten steel tubs containing westringias dot the walkway. All in all, visitors are drawn into a joyous dance of textures and colours.
On the west side of the villa, we created a curving pathway with steps made of railway sleepers and Malmort pebbles, with wooden mulch on the verges.
The swimming pool in a green oasis
For the upper part of the garden, which includes the swimming pool, we have created a mediterranean garden with plants in warm colours. The pillars of the poolhouse are adorned with Grasse jasmine, diffusing its bewitching fragrance in summer and autumn.
Bathers will appreciate the sloping bank in the pool background
At the front, creeping plants line the top of the low wall, while meadow grasses and olive trees in the background create depth. Four Anduze jars, some the finest examples of Provençal pottery, surround the pool and are adorned with callistemon and arbutus.
